About Issy D Photo

Hi, I’m Issy and I’m the creator of Isabella D Photo. My love of photography started in 2015 when I joined Bondi Surf Club as a lifesaver. I began waking up for sunrise every day and purchased my first DSLR camera. I was instantly inspired by the incredible skies that greeted me each morning.

I began by shooting from land only. As my surf skills developed, I picked up a water housing for my camera and started shooting amongst the surfers and sea life.

Dolphins Bondi (Dec, 2015)

My most memorable shoot was a morning at Bondi, unlike most, where a pod of dolphins were frolicking in the bay. Excited as ever, I grabbed my camera, water housing and fins and swam out in hopes of capturing the dolphins. This was much harder than first anticipated. I must’ve swum a few hundred metres, which is difficult with a camera in hand. Just as I was ready to give up, the pod appeared in front of me. I managed to capture just one shot of 2 dolphins, which is still one of my favourite shots ever. I’ve had many unforgettable moments in the 9 years I’ve been shooting.

Approximately 2 years after I started photography, drones started to become very popular. Because I’m the type of person to get bored easily, I had to get my hands on a drone and try it for myself. I was instantly hooked (although a little nervous). Can’t believe they actually let me control this flying machine. I really enjoy being able to take photos from such a unique perspective, something that wasn’t possible before. I’m still as obsessed with drone photography now, as I was in 2017.

I’ve spent most of my life in Sydney, but have resided on the Gold Coast and the Whitsundays. My photography is a curation of the many places I’ve lived.

I created Isabella D Photo to showcase my best images from the beginning of my photography journey to now. Each image is available as a print, frame or canvas, for your home or as a gift. My aim is to inspire others through my images and artworks. I hope you enjoy.
